Medical Billing and Coding Dual Certification
Medical billing and coding are the processes of submitting and tracking medical claims with insurance providers. They are an essential part of the healthcare industry and ensure providers are paid accurately and on time for their services.
Medical billing and coding professionals are responsible for ensuring that all information on a claim is correct, including the patient's diagnosis, the procedures performed, and the dates of service. They also track payments from insurance companies and follow up on any unpaid claims.
Some specific duties fall under each profession. Billers are responsible for submitting claims to insurance providers, while coders are responsible for translating medical procedures into codes insurers can understand.
Bryant & Stratton College offers separate certificates in both medical billing and medical coding. This dual certificate allows you to combine both to level up your skills more quickly and easily.
